Summary/Abstract: Phraseological units reflect the special worldview of each nation, its psychology and thinking. Phraseologisms usually express the language of the author, give it uniqueness, even charm. The purpose of the article is to analyze the structure and semantics of phraseological units, which include somatisms, in the artistic discourse of O. Kobylyanska, to compare these language units with literary counterparts. The relevance of the article is determined by the need of further in-depth study of Olga Kobylyanskaya idiostyle in order to form a cognitive-pragmatic conception of the writer's artistic discourse. The novelty of scientific research is due to the fact that the structure and semantics of phraseologisms with the basic word-somatism in the artistic discourse of O. Kobylyanska have not yet been the subject of in-depth research. Research methods. In the article as the main general scientific methods of analysis and synthesis are used, as well as linguistic – descriptive, structural and comparative and historical methods. Conclusions. In O. Kobylyanska's artistic discourse phraseological units with somatisms hand and its parts (fist, elbow), leg and part of the face or head (face, mouth, tongue, eyes, teeth, hair) most often occur. In the artistic works of the Bukovinian writer we record two groups of phraseological units with the basic word-somatism. The first group includes those that correspond to the literary language, recorded in the Dictionary of Phraseologisms of the Ukrainian language (права рука, дерти носа, мати в руках). The second group includes phraseologisms that have undergone various modifications, mainly due to the author's creativity, such as: changes of cases, word order, replacement of one verb with another, similar in meaning, including dialectisms, which adds special color to the language of Bukovinian writer (кулаки гризти, отворяти уста, кров у лице бухнула).
