Summary/Abstract: This study comparatively depicts the gender of nouns in Russian and Romanian, the possibilities and limits of the semantic, formal and syntactic differentiation of this grammatical category, illustrating the similarities and differences between the two languages as far as the gender of nouns grammatical category is concerned.
