Summary/Abstract: Family relationships are an important aspect in the organization and structure of the traditional societies, they being seen as a network of social relations that govern the life of a particular group. The terminology of kinship also represents a very important lexical field, especially in expressing the lineage in the period prior to institutionalization of the surname. In this paper, we will see to what extent these terms are still preserved today in the current anthroponomy and toponymy.
