A Research on the Work-Life Balance of Academics

Summary/Abstract: The aim of this research is to determine the work-life balance of academicians, to make suggestions and to contribute to the academic literature in this way. The subject of the research is the work-life balance of academics who have a busy business life. Convenience sampling method was used in the research and data were collected by sending the prepared questionnaire to 75 people over the internet. In this study, the “Work-Life Balance Scale” was used to determine the perceptions of academics about work-life balance. The data obtained in the research were analyzed using SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences) for Windows 25.0 and AMOS (Analysis of Moment Structures) 22.0 program. The most important result obtained according to the findings of the study is that the work-life balance scale scores of the participants with children are higher than the participants without children. It has been determined that having a child is an important factor in ensuring the balance between the work and living areas of the academicians.
