Summary/Abstract: The language of the German minority in Romania, Rumäniendeutsch, is characterized by language contact, linguistic transfer, and interferences from the Romanian language to the German language and vice versa. The present paper deals with the linguistic transfer from Romanian to the language of the German newspaper „Allgemeine Deutsche Zeitung für Rumänien“. This transfer and interference finds its linguistic expression in words, phrases, borrowings, loan-shifts, and hybrid structures used in this newspaper and is illustrated by lexical and semantic transfers in the area of the verb.
