Summary/Abstract: Only a Few Fates Are Known of the Dozens of Czechoslovaks Imprisoned in Volgolag. The Gulag camps were usually located in remote regions of the Soviet empire which were hard to reach. However, some of them were sited in central Russia, not far from the capital, Moscow. One of them was the extensive complex of camps called Volgolag in the Yaroslavl region, where hundreds of thousands of prisoners of the Bolshevik regime suffered from the 1930s to the 1950s, including dozens of Czech expatriates and Czechoslovak citizens.
