Summary/Abstract: Culture is an indispensable part of humanity. Culture means being human. But how are cultures transferred from one country to another? They are transferred through oral or written transmission, often known as translation. Translation, however, can be more than just the transmission of words. It has the power to develop and reimagine the culture of a country. Brothers Grimm set an example of cultural transmission with their book Kinder und Hausmärchen (KHM). Today, KHM is a worldwide known book and is translated into numerous languages. This present paper will discuss how the translations of KHM work in other cultures and how KHM has shaped the world.
