Summary/Abstract: This research was conducted for investigating teachers’ views on science education in early childhood. Study’s research group consisted of 189 preschool teachers in Çorum city centre and districts. In the study, survey method of descriptive research methods was used and content analysis was conducted for data obtained with questionnaire developed by researchers. In research, it was determined that teachers love and are interested in science education. While children’s interest and faith in necessity of science education affected teachers’ approach towards this education field positively, children’s lacking interest and knowledge about field affected teachers’ approach negatively. It was determined that teachers most frequently encounter problems like inadequate education environment, material deficiencies and crowded classrooms and such problems led to inability to include science education in curriculum, obtain effective results and teachers’ losing motivation. While more than half of teachers consider themselves adequate in science education, they stated that they find the education they had in science education field inadequate. It was determined that teachers rather use internet while preparing plans and activities, there is a science centre in classrooms and they want in-service training on methods and techniques used in science education, field information, activity planning and implementation and material designing.
