Short Description

The Year Book of our institute has a constant apparition, being at its 10th volume. It is an academic publication, which includes the results of the research and documentation carried not only by the researchers of the institute, but also by prominent representatives of the humanities from Romania and abroad. Its scientific value, the originality of the studies, their rich and serious documentation, the profoundness of analyses and the professionalism of their authors, make the Year Book one of the most well received academic publication. The themes are related to comparative cultural studies, image and identity studies, travel studies, social history, political and diplomatic history, the history of the intelligentsia, history of literature, historical, cultural and confessional relations in Transylvania, Romanian - European cultural and political relations and history of the Romanian exile, history of European integration, perceptions of the contemporary historical phenomena. Beginning with the 10th volume, the editors intend to enlarge the public to which the Year Book is dedicated, by increasing the number of articles written in English and by encouraging English speaking scholars to participate to the publication. The Year Book distinguishes itself by its interdisciplinary and international character. Another characteristic feature is its interethnic component owing to the multicultural environment of our city, Targu Mures, situated at the center of Transylvania. The Year Book is a peer-reviewed publication and has an international editorial board represented by scholars all over the world. The Year Book is a thematic publication and comprises mostly the papers presented at the annual international conferences of the Institute, following open calls for participation.
