Short Description

Public Governance (Zarządzanie Publiczne) is a quarterly published since 2007 by Cracow University of Economics and the Scholar Publishing House. Its primary area of interest includes texts dealing with a variety of aspects of public authority with a view to the development of a system of indicators related to the quality of governance in Poland. Research in this domain comes from political science, law, economics, sociology and, of course, from management sciences. We both combine and confront these approaches with various theoretical perspectives aiming at a better multifaceted description of the public sphere that cannot be reduced to the sphere of the state and traditionally conceived politics. The Programme Board of the quarterly consists, among others, of professors Anna Giza-Poleszczuk, Jarosław Górniak, Jerzy Hausner, Tadeusz Kudłacz and Grażyna Skąpska. Public Management meets the highest professional standards of reputable publishing houses both in technical and methodological terms. A typical issue consists of 4–5 articles, a classical text written by an outstanding expert in a given specialty (translated into Polish from other languages) supplemented by reviews and interviews. We are gaining a stronger market position amongst scientific publishing houses that specialise in the field of governance thanks both to the high quality of articles, including those by recognised international authors, and to the high standards that must be met by papers accepted for publication. Our reviewers are specialists representing recognised academic centres in Poland, including professors Andrzej Antoszewski, Jacek Hołówka, Michał Kulesza, Mirosława Marody, Marek Zirk-Sadowski, Piotr Sztompka, Marian Filar, Jerzy Wilkin, Krystyna Poznańska, who ensure that our quarterly meets the most rigorous standards.
