Short Description

Our objectives are: Both the philosopher and the artist have to give thought to values of life. But they can not do that outside of language that gives them the possibility to express concepts and metaphors. In fact, concepts are transmutations of emotions to abstractions by means of language. True philosophy is not possible unless it unifies thought and metaphor in a work of art and, at the level of human being, communication and communion between rationality and intuition. Both philosophers and artists think by means of metaphors (see Friedrich Nietzsche, Martin Heidegger, Lucian Blaga, Paul Ricoeur, Maurice Blanchot etc.) Speculative philosophy for instance is closer to poetical imagination than rigorous demonstration. Given that, "Alkemie" establishes a coordination between philosophy and literature, but that does not mean that it excludes opposition between them. Literature and philosophy are products of thinking and language. What properly results, i.e. writing, may bear literary or philosophical marks, but there is a need to think expression and in the same time express thinking. Philosophy is not only an art of thinking and literature is not only an art of expression and Alkemie aims to remind the differences and stress similarities between philosophy and literature. Although the main domain is literature, there are also some secondary domains: philosophy, sociology, psychology, arts.
