Summary/Abstract: The subject of the article is an autonomy of road vehicles. Issues which has been raised in it concern about present situation of automation in road transport. Admission allows to recognize this problem. Then, definitions of „autonomous” and „automated” are compared in European Union and in the USA. In the following part, there is described present situations of transport’s autonomy and intelligent solutions. At the end, it is shown SWOT analysis, which compares strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of autonomous road vehicles and its importance for Logistics.
