Summary/Abstract: Major Vasile Țanțu was a participant in the First World War, in the tsarist army, within 433 Infantry Battalion. In 1917, he mobilized Moldavian officers and soldiers from the front to solve issues related to Basarabia and sets up in Iasi the Committee ofBasarabian Officers and Soldiers on Romanian battlefield. Major Vasile Țanțu organized and participated in the Troops Congress of Moldavian Soldiers and, as President of the Administrative Office of the Country’s Council, on March 27th, 1918, he voted forBasarabia’s Union with Romania.
