Orthodox Monasticism Between Ideology, Society and the Individual. The Religious Foundation in Pre-Modern Romanian Society

Summary/Abstract: Our approach shows the phenomenon of religious founder, from the perspective of the importance for the person. Starting from 17th situation in Moldova and Wallachia, we found that raising and endowment monasteries were forms of representation of individuality, for keeping on its image in the collective memory. These findings may become research directions of the development of society as a stage crossing to modernity.
