Summary/Abstract: The paper analyses an Old Russian inscription that was scratched on the marble balustrade of the north gallery in St. Sophia. In its reconstructed form the graffito reads: “Bezneg Alekosa wrote [this]. I killed two persons”. The paleographic analysis allows the inscription to be dated to the second part of the 14th c.
