Discontinuous phrases in the Polish Academy of Sciences Great Dictionary of Polish

Summary/Abstract: The aim of this paper is to present general rules for editing idiom entries for the Polish Academy of Sciences Great Dictionary of Polish (Wielki słownik języka polskiego PAN). The authors first present a methodology for defining idiomatic phrases and then proceed to discuss the scope of lexicographic description of such phrases contained in the dictionary. This scope includes properties such as inflectional, syntactical and semantic characteristics, lexical connectedness, etc.
