| Summary: |
The Romanian press of January 1, 1938 – August 23, 1944 stood out for its ideological monotony: dailies and most magazines adopted the same normative stances (same opinion, same vision, same belief) and the same interpretations in reference to topics of domestic and international politics. The wide diversity of opinions that had characterized interwar Romanian press gradually disappeared after 1938, to be soon replaced by a single opinion: first that of the Goga-Cuza government, then that of the royal dictatorship of Carol II and eventually that of the Ion Antonescu governments. |
